District heating is a climate-smart energy system which heats over half of all commercial and residential buildings in Sweden.
The district heating network is a network of several thousand kilometres of pipes, transporting hot water under our feet through our towns. The hot water then heats up the buildings without you having to do a thing.
We produce district heating from what would otherwise go to waste. For example, this can be waste from forests in the form of branches and wood chips, waste timber from building sites or surplus heat from industry or data centres. District heating from Vattenfall is therefore easy and convenient for you as well as sustainable for urban areas and communities.
District heating from Vattenfall can be found at the following locations in Sweden. Our networks are being expanded all the time to enable even more people to benefit from district heating.
Askersund, Gustavsberg, Haninge, Tyresö and Älta, Knivsta, Motala, Nyköping, Storvreta, Uppsala, Vänersborg
New customers moving into a house which already has district heating are offered a free information visit to explain how the district heating system works. Contact customer service on 020-36 00 36 to book an information visit.
When you log in to My Pages, you can monitor your consumption, view your invoices and sign up to receive notifications of any disruptions to your supply. Signing up to this service means that information about any disruptions in the district heating network is automatically sent to your email address. The service is free.
